Hero

I decided to try my hand at painting Chris Hemsworth aka Mr. Thor since his face is so interestingly asymmetrical and bloody hard to draw. Throughout the painting process, I had to make several minor adjustments, like making his chin smaller. It's good practice though -- really makes the eye see what's there. And of course, the two different light sources really helped me learn and understand colors and light better.

The reference photo is from [link] by photographer Michael Muller. He has short hair in it, but I painted him as Thor because his expression and pose reminded me of a strong, resolute warrior, i.e. hero.
