Losing Your Head

This is my entry for Episode-Themed Contest. Sam and Dean went to investigate Headless Horseman sightings at a remote forest in Michigan.

Location: Forest
Villain: Spirit
Weapon: Rock Salt (bullets)

SCENE: Sam and Dean are on the way back to the Impala after salting-and-burning the remains of a Revolutionary War re-enactor a.k.a. nut when they hear galloping hoofs.

DEAN: (looks back) Son of a bitch!
SAM: But ... how is ... We torched the wrong bones?
DEAN: Obviously we got it wrong. (mutters) Where is Johnny Depp when you need him?
SAM: But we double-checked! And checked again!
Dean shoots the ghost but no effect. He backs away and turns.
DEAN: Uh, Sammy?
SAM: What?
DEAN: RUUUUNNNN!

I chose the Headless Horseman as the villain because I want an episode dealing with the HH badly. Come on Jeremy Carver, it's not too late to do this episode.

This painting was fun to do and taught me a lot. I always zoned out in math class and had the basics of perspective but knowing the basics doesn't necessarily aid application. Painting the trees and the HH was great: I decided to really go for the whole motion thing so I used the blur tool on top of blur option. Hope it worked. It's also my first time drawing and painting a horse. It does look like a horse, right? LOL

I used Adobe Photoshop CS5 and WACOM Intuos 4 digital tablet.
