Lady of Winter: She's my idea of a spirit that ushers in winter.

References: me and imagination, really. I did the pose, studied countless of fashion magazines lying around my place, combined what I learned in my head. I like how it turned out, though I have a few niggles. This is my first time painting black hair so I don't know how realistic it turned out. Probably not very. Actually, I think it looks like she has dark gray hair. Whoops!

At any rate, I still like her, imperfections and all.

nice! I too am self taught and started late( to get serious about it anyway) have you ever tried to work from a life model? I love the hair grey or black, black hair is a combination of many colors, with highlights of course...any way I'm no expert but I think you are doing great!
